Spays, Neuters, Adoptions and Kittens!
It’s been a bit since we’ve been able to post, but that is fantastic because we have been so busy!
We were able to get 3 of our socialized cats fixed, and one of our not quite social cats. Sienna has already been claimed for adoption! She will be going to her new home next week! Fluffernutter and Big Papa will be listed for adoption and we will begin accepting applications for them in the very near future!
We have had our first two litters of kittens. The first litter produced 3 healthy kittens, one very under developed kitten that unfortunately did not make it, and one with some physical complications that the mother has rejected, but we have been bottle feeding. She will be a week old tomorrow!
The second litter was born at the barn under some floorboards, on a heap of old insulation. We had been trying for a week to trap the pregnant mama with no luck. The day before she gave birth, her haybales that she had been nesting in were all removed, we spent the whole day trying to lure her to us so she could have her babies inside, but she was too stressed. The day after she had her kittens, we were able to trap her, climb up into the loft, and we had to pry up floorboards to get to the 6 healthy babies, all of which are now safe and sound inside!
We are excited for kittens, because their little faces are the sweetest things we’ve ever seen, but we are incredibly proud to know that we prevented 20 potential pregnancies this spring!
We have another busy month ahead, but be sure to check out our adoptable cats when we launch the new page! Thank you for your support!
